Brothers- Courtesy Post- We are looking to place our two silver F6 Savannah boys, Rick on the right and Chad on the left. Both boys will go home neutered and up to date on veterinary care. Neither has any history of litter box issues. They are extremely affectionate, people-oriented cats who will follow you from room to room and want to be involved in everything you are doing. Rick is the more vocal of the two and will sometimes randomly howl for no apparent reason. He is confident, outgoing, and always makes his presence known. Chad has a naturally mean-mugged face and frequently looks like he is judging everyone in the room, but his expression does not match his personality at all. He is actually the quieter, sweeter, and more timid of the two. He is very affectionate once comfortable and usually only becomes vocal when food is involved. Both boys are great with children, dogs of all sizes, and other cats. They can play a little rough at times, so their nails do need to be kept trimmed. Both absolutely love giving kisses and will happily sit and groom your face for as long as you let them. They also tolerate the "boop" game surprisingly well—you can gently boop their little pink noses quite a few times before they decide they've had enough and wander off to find their next adventure. Rick is extremely intense around food and needs to be fed separately from other animals. He will slap everyone—including the hand that feeds him—and should not be bothered during mealtime... respectfully. He eats very quickly, so I feed him with a slow feeder, and he typically guards anything he considers food. He may be willing to trade for something of higher value (dehydrated rabbit ears, freeze-dried nuggets, etc.), provided you can offer it before he finishes what he already has. Chad has no food-related concerns and is much more submissive. He will often move out of the way and allow Rick access to the food bowl rather than challenging him. They are currently fed a rotation of premade raw, wet food, and freeze-dried food rehydrated with water. They also receive whole prey approximately twice a week, including day-old quail, day-old chicks, poulets, ducklings, hamsters, guinea pigs, and other appropriately sourced prey items. Both boys are unfortunately door dashers. Their curiosity makes an open door extremely tempting, so their future home will need to be cautious when entering or leaving. We recently moved to a home on a busy road, so their outdoor adventures have been stopped for their safety. Neither boy is especially fond of wearing a harness, but both will tolerate one and would likely continue improving with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Like many Savannahs, they are active, clever, social, persistent, and fully capable of finding their own entertainment. They enjoy climbing to high places, opening cabinets, following their people from room to room, and insisting on being involved in whatever you're doing. Rick is also capable of opening glass tank lids. While there are no restrictions on homes with small animals or pocket pets, their enclosures must be extremely secure and inaccessible to him. He has previously managed to get into our pet sitter's hamster enclosure, so this is something his future family should be mindful of. They are not bonded and may be placed separately, but we highly recommend they have another active feline companion who can match their boundless energy.
