This sweet and beautiful baby girl is Kreah. Norwegian forest mix. She is very special and blessed to be here. She was born with a rare congenital condition called atresia ani. This is a condition where a malformation has caused a lack of a patent anus, and Kreah also has a rectovaginal fistula which causes fecal seepage through the vagina, leading to vaginal pain and infections. Kreah could have been put to sleep for this condition, but we knew it was treatable and we wanted to give her a fighting chance at life! She could only partially pass stool and was in a lot of pain. She constantly cried when trying to go to the litterbox. She was at risk of urinary infections due to the location of the fistula. She has had 2 prior failed incisions to open up her anus. Surgery was the only way to correct this issue.she is currently in recovery now. Update: she's fully recovered and her surgery was a partial success.
