Meet Akira (black tuxedo) and Saiga (gray ragdoll), two beautiful and affectionate 12-year-old domesticated long-haired cats who have been best friends since the age of 1. Their bond is as strong as their sweet and gentle personalities, and we’re looking for a loving home where they can stay together and live out their golden years in peace. Akira is the social butterfly of the pair. She’s very talkative and loves seeking attention from anyone willing to give her pets. You’ll often hear her soft meows as she chats with you or requests some affection. She enjoys lounging by the window and watching the world go by but prefers her own space around dogs. Saiga, on the other hand, is more laid-back and calm. She has a unique and loving relationship with dogs and was best pals with our American Bulldog, who used to groom her! While she might shy away from noisy crowds, she quickly warms up to strangers offering pets and cuddles. Both Akira and Saiga are shy in loud or bustling environments, but in a quiet home, they truly shine as affectionate and gentle companions. While they’re healthy and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Akira and Saiga require a little help with grooming due to their luxurious long fur. A weekly combing or an occasional shave every few months keeps them knot-free and comfortable. Both cats are accustomed to indoor living but love spending time by a window or on a screened-in porch where they can safely enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Akira’s sensitive stomach issues were resolved years ago with Purina Sensitive Skin & Stomach food, and both cats are thriving on it today. Our family, unfortunately, has developed severe cat allergies, making it impossible for us to continue providing the home they deserve. This decision has been heartbreaking, but we are determined to find a loving new family for them where they can stay together and enjoy their senior years.
