Said this before but yeah let me say it again

ATTENTION: I hate to burst people's bubbles, BUT, when you are requesting specifics as a particular color, age, etc of a Maine Coon, the chances of adopting or rescuing such a kitten or cat that is purebred is NON EXISTENT. ALSO the chances of finding a PUREBRED MAINE COON IN A RESCUE OR SPCA IS PRACTICALLY NON EXISTENT. WHY, People that own a purebred MUST RETURN THE KITTEN OR CAT BACK TO THE BREEDER FOR REHOMING PER CONTRACT AND CAT ASSOCIATIONS RULES. TO find a purebred roaming the countryside nation wide, and making ALL THESE part Maine Coons is really really really really rare. WHAT RESCUES AND SPCA'S AND VETS ARE SAYING ARE MAINE COONS ARE DOMESTIC LONGHAIR CATS, THAT NEED A HOME DESPERATELY. The only way you are going to get a Maine Coon is purchasing one from a reputable breeder, unfortunately, that is reality. In the 9 years in the hobby, (and counting) I have only come across 2 rescue situations, and that was due to hoarding, breeder passed away, and abuse (cattery shut down). I have spoken to other friends (breeders) and owners of Maine Coons, and they too state, the chances of finding a purebred in a rescue or adoption situation is VEry RARE. Also BEWARE OF CHEAP MAINE COONS
