About: American Ringtails & Snowshoe American Ringtails. Lines contain tight (profile pic), moderate, & loose tail curls, long & shorthair, & rare/unusual colors (lilac, chocolate, colorpoint, & caramel) & marble pattern.

American Ringtail cats (not 2 b confused w/wild ringtail cats) have curly tails 2 varying degrees, usually expressing by 6 wks. They r skeletally normal, but have curly tails curling tightest when active/excited & fully uncurling @rest/relaxation. It's an adorable harmless recessive genetic anomaly.

"Chocolate" & its dilute "Lilac/Lavender" r the 2nd rarest cat colors, rarely seen outside of a handful of specific purebred breeds. Chocolate should not b confused w/misnomer "brown" tabbies which r genetically black & actually a mix of black, grey, & light brown.

"Caramel", aka "dilute modifier", is double dilute, & rarely seen outside of oriental (Siamese NOT of acceptable breed color standard &/or hair length) cats. It's based off dilute colors (blue, lilac, fawn, cream), which then become blue based caramel, lilac based caramel (taupe), fawn based caramel, & apricot. C messybeast site 4 more info.

"Snowshoe" (Siamese X American Shorthair) cats r colorpoints w/white feet. RARE b/c difficult 2 achieve since white feet link 2 piebald/bi color gene.

Colorpoint is a temperature sensitive form of albinism; cold=darker, warm=lighter. Kittens r born white & develop color w/maturity. Colorpoints who develop body tint beyond white/cream r "minks" (aka "tonkinese", between colorpoint & sepia) & "sepias" (aka "burmese", darkest). Due 2 albinism, EYES STAY BLUE. Deafness is NOT in colorpoint genetics, but IS in piebald/bi color.

Lynxpoint is tabby (ticked, mackeral, marble, spotted) patterned colorpoint, normal @points & lighter on body.
