Both girls are litter-trained and eating dry food with supplemental wet food. They were nursed by a surrogate mother who was de-wormed while nursing them so they have been de-wormed, but are due for a full veterinary workup once in their new homes. My husband and I do what we can with the funds and resources we have available but cannot afford full workups for every kitten given that we don't ask for payment when adopting out kittens. If you wish to support us, donations of cat food and litter are always appreciated. We have had adopters give monetary donations, but we would never ask for such because money is never our goal, finding forever homes is <3!
The girls will come with a baggie of the food they are currently on, as well as a little keepsake Rescue Certificate (think birth certificate but for rescues).
Are you looking to add some bundles of joy to your home? Look no further! I have two precious girlies who are eagerly seeking their forever home together.
Let's get to know the girls:
August(grey), or Auggy for short, was a surprise baby who's mother we had rescued a week before her birth. Her mother, June, showed no signs of pregnancy and gave us no warning before gifting us with a kitten- on April fool's day no less. Due to either her age or stress from being recently rescued, June had absolutely no clue what to do with her new kitten and in all honesty, she was rather afraid of the little fluffball.
Initially, we thought Auggy was a little boy (hence the more boy-ish name) but we recently learned her fluffy fur was hiding the fact that she is in fact a girl!
She is the best cuddler on earth. She absolutely loves curling up in your arms or snuggling in-between couch cushions on a mission to find the *perfect* spot to nap.
She's a mellow girl who wants nothing more than to stick her head into a jar of grated parmesan when you aren't looking, then curl up beside you to take a nap- covered in cheese. I cannot stress this enough, she loves parmesan cheese.
Birdie was a stray brought to us when she was about two and a half weeks old. She was found under a deck after her mother and littermates were sadly taken by a fox. When she came to our home, she spent the first few weeks making chirps and bird-like meows, which is how she was nicknamed Birdie.
Since her arrival, she has done everything in her power to spice up life in our home. Because she was nearly the exact same age as August, we paired the two up for company. To put it kindly, Auggy had absolutely no clue how to handle her new sister. She'd spent the first two and a half weeks of her life in peaceful bliss, cuddled up in the warm sunlight on fluffy blankets and then out of the blue, the ball of energy that is Birdie was plopped into her life.
Her calm and peaceful nap sessions were interrupted by a spastic ball of spit and vinegar eager to play with tails and steal bottles. To say the least, Auggy was beyond displeased with the new arrangement and Birdie was more than happy to have a new playmate.
Over time, the two have grown into the perfect pair. Auggy has learned how to be playful and now spends her time between naps running around the house with Birdie, and Birdie has learned that she actually enjoys a nice and peaceful nap/grooming session with her sister. These two really are the perfect balance of playful kitten chaos with ample love and cuddles.
I will warn you, keep your hair-ties where Birdie cannot find them. She will take them and you will never see them again (that is, until you go to put on a shoe or clean under the couch).
Together, these two perfectly embody all the wonderful parts of the new kitten experience. At any given moment, Birdie can be seen doing literal backflips as she chases a hair tie, which august is curled in your lap sleepily grooming herself (or your arm).
August and Birdie have formed a special bond and are inseparable. Where one goes, the other is sure to follow. I would love for them to be adopted together to keep each other company and continue their adventures as sisters and best friends.
Their ideal home would be one with lots of love to go around. They have been around our gentle dog other cats, and children their entire life. Auggy is on the shy side with dogs and small children at first, but she will come around quickly. Birdie fears little to nothing and will gladly run into a burning building if given the chance (the bravery in this girl is unmatched).
This duo is definitely the perfect opportunity to bring double the love and joy into your life!
