He's very chill and independent. When in the right company he is really playful and cuddly. I don't think he'd like to be in a home with other cats or small children, but mature kids would be just fine. Right now he's lived with a dog for 5 years, this dog has a prey drive but Murph doesn't mind it. They seem to low-key love each other, and I've found them cuddling on more than one occasion. He can be ornery but doesn't get on counters or tables. He can open cabinets and doors that aren't latched. Intelligent but cautious. He also loves being outside and occasionally will bring home his hunting trophies. He's definitely the type to ask for head scratches, and when he's over it will plop down and entice you to rub his tummy... but he really doesn't like being touched on his tummy so I think it's some sort of cat game. He is long haired and needs to be brushed at least twice per week, but he loves it and would accept a daily grooming sessions.
