Lucy — 4 years, 7 lbs, female, DOB 4-20-2018
Darwin — 6 years, 15 lbs, male, DOB9-18-2016
Lucy and Darwin have been a part of our family their whole lives. This is the most difficult decision for us, but my mother is highly allergic to cats, and as she has gotten older, we see her more frequently, and she visits often. We moved into a new home and have tried keeping them in the basement but after a few months, it feels unfair to do so. They are the most loving cats. Lucy is 4 and Darwin is 6. Ideally, we would want them rehomed together. They are both playful and get along so well. They share a litter box and food and water bowls. They are super easy to care for. Both are declawed and would need to remain indoor cats. Ideally, we would prefer that they go to a home with no other animals, as we know the transition will be difficult for them. Darwin is a little bit more skittish than Lucy. Lucy gets along with other cats, small dogs (we have 2) and really anyone. Darwin, even though he is around 15 pounds, is actually a big scaredy-cat and will probably hide for the first couple of weeks until he feels safe and adjusted. Lucy is the most social of the two of them, and loves cuddles and attention. Once Darwin warms up, he is the most playful and goofy cat you’ll ever meet. Lucy could go to a home that has other pets so long as there are no big dogs, as she is only 7 pounds, but Darwin would not adjust well to a house with the dogs. A single cat home may be OK. We have another elderly cat who is 15. At first Darwin did not get along very well with her but he now leaves her alone. Children in the home is OK as they are both super sweet and loving. Our boys are 13 and 15 now but we got them when they were younger. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This is very hard for us, but we would like for them to find a loving family who would give them the quality of life that they deserve, with no restrictions and lots of love. We want to make sure that whoever we decide to rehome them to you is the perfect fit so we would definitely want to do a meet and greet first. Thanks!
