up-to-date vaccines and health records. I will provide a small amount of transition food.
She has been exposed to dogs and cats, doesn’t have a problem once they are used to each other. She is a strictly indoor cat. Venus eats Tikicat dry food but has eaten canned and raw. She enjoys being brushed, but it does take two of us to clip nails! She likes to roll in catnip and small stuffed animal toys. She will absolutely need some scratching posts and enjoys naps in window perches.
Venus is a wonderfully lean and muscular, TICA registered Silver Rosetted Bengal, and she is spayed. Venus is high energy and would appreciate a sibling who could meet her roughness for play. Venus, like many Bengals, is skittish and doesn't like to be picked up. Occasionally she will reach out and tag you as you pass her by, but she is more vocal, and will cry out to you if she wants your affection. Venus will let you know when she wants attention, jump up on a high table or counter to your level, in hopes to get her back and neck scratched. She LOVES running on a cat wheel (one fast kitty). Venus likes quiet and dark places to sleep, often found in the bedroom of my autistic child's room. He finds her company comforting because she keeps to herself and isn't pushy or demanding for attention (much like himself). Venus can make friends and cuddle with kittens, but she doesn’t tolerate females once they come into heat, need a home with spayed/neutered cats. Venus is likely to eat her food in the middle of the night or when no one is around.
Why is she being rehomed? I breed Persians but Venus just does not find that appealing. She seems to get increasing anxious and defensive, attacking moms or intact females. They in turn come after her randomly. We have a lot of people in our home, and I think she doesn’t appreciate the traffic and constant visitors of family and friends. I think she would be happier in a quieter, smaller home. It’s important to know, Venus does NOT like the vet. We use a traveling vet that comes to our house to try and make it less traumatic for her, and she does need to be confined to a small area like bathroom for treatment, held down and covered with a sheet, by a strong person. She has needed sedation for treatment before. She has a small cataract in one eye from playing too rough and getting scratched when she was younger. She is otherwise completely healthy. She just got her 3-year rabies shot and should be good so long as none of the cats get loose outside, I would recommend against additional shots or visits if she isn’t sick because it causes extreme stress and anxiety for her, she literally screams and yells, like throwing a tantrum.
She was originally $1800. Venus is such a sweet girl and I hate to see her go, but I have to put her needs first.
